About this role

Join a global DevOps team at a Chicago-based financial services firm as a summer intern, managing Kubernetes infrastructure and platform operations with direct production impact. You'll work on containerization, GitOps workflows, observability, and service migrations while supporting a fast-paced proprietary trading environment.

What you'll do

  • Deploy and manage Kubernetes workloads including containers, Pods, Deployments, Services, and storage concepts
  • Implement GitOps practices using Argo CD to reconcile infrastructure state from git repositories
  • Build and extend observability with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana dashboards, and alert routing
  • Triage production alerts by validating signals, correlating changes, and documenting findings with escalation
  • Support platform upgrades for Kubernetes components and controllers following established runbooks
  • Assist with migrations of services from bare metal infrastructure to Kubernetes under mentorship
