Field Application Engineer

We are seeking a Field Application Engineer to join our growing Sales Support team. Efficient's Field Application Engineers are the technical bridge between our customers and our engineering team, guiding customers from first evaluation through design-in and production. This position is a unique opportunity to shape how a new processor architecture is adopted in the market as part of a highly interdisciplinary team, helping to demonstrate the value of Efficient's breakthrough technology. You'll work directly with customers and help write the playbook: building reference designs, demos and application notes, and feeding what you hear from customers straight back to our Product and Engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Create and present Efficient's technical value proposition to customers, from engineers to executives
• Understand customer applications and system requirements, and propose optimal Efficient-based solutions
• Partner with Regional Sales Managers, distributors and representatives to secure design-wins and drive them to production
• Provide hands-on technical support throughout the design cycle, from evaluation and board bring-up to debugging and optimization
• Build custom demos, proofs of concept and benchmarks that show Efficient's performance and energy advantage
• Respond quickly and accurately to technical inquiries, RFQs and customer escalations, coordinating with internal engineering as needed
• Author reference designs, application notes and training materials for customers and channel partners
• Serve as the voice of the customer, feeding requirements and competitive insights back to Product and Engineering
• Build and maintain strong technical relationships with key customer engineering teams

Required Qualifications & Experience Requirements

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or similar field is required.
• Minimum 4 years of embedded software development experience with an understanding of embedded hardware including digital and analog circuits.
• Experience with ARM or RISC-V microcontrollers.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems; Python for scripting, tooling and test automation
• Hands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power analyzers and JTAG/SWD debuggers
• Minimum 2 years of successfully supporting customer product development.
• Experience working with embedded software, sensor fusion algorithms, edge AI models and interfacing with wireless modules or wireless SOCs.
• Experience at a semiconductor company or MCU vendor supporting design-wins
• Background in target markets such as industrial IoT, wearables, smart home, medical or defense
• Willingness to travel to customer sites, up to 25% of time.

• Comfortable in a fast-paced startup where processes are still being built
• Able to juggle multiple customer engagements and prioritize by business impact

We offer a competitive base salary for this role, generally ranging from $160,000 to $230,000, plus a 10% annual bonus, meaningful equity, and comprehensive benefits. Final compensation will depend on experience, level, and location, with flexibility for the right candidate.
