About this role
Epic Games seeks an Engine Programmer Intern for the 2027 season to work on the Fortnite Online team, developing and maintaining shared online gameplay technology and systems for Unreal Engine and Fortnite. You'll architect solutions for multiplayer features, backend services, and online systems used by licensees and players worldwide.
What you'll do
- Architect, develop, and maintain shared online gameplay technology for the Fortnite Online team
- Contribute to online systems and toolsets used by Unreal Engine licensees
- Develop online features and services for Fortnite and other Epic games
- Build solutions from concept through shipped code with stability for live players
- Work on networking, REST APIs, and backend service integration
- Collaborate with engineering teams on multiplayer game systems
