About this role

Flock seeks a UAS Flight Test Engineer to lead rigorous flight testing and hardware validation for Drone as First Responder aircraft systems. You'll operate as Pilot in Command, write Python test scripts, troubleshoot integration issues, and document findings—spending 70% of your time conducting outdoor field tests and flight operations in Atlanta with occasional domestic travel.

What you'll do

  • Lead technical flight testing and evaluation of DFR aircraft, hardware integrations, and system components
  • Serve as Pilot in Command during outdoor flight operations and assess system performance across diverse conditions
  • Write and modify custom Python test scripts to extract flight data and analyze aircraft behavior
  • Conduct root-cause troubleshooting on hardware and software issues discovered during bench and field testing
  • Document flight data, generate technical test reports, and communicate findings to engineering teams
  • Handle and transport equipment weighing up to 55 lbs in active outdoor field environments
