About this role

Formic seeks a Robotics Field Service Engineer to maintain and troubleshoot deployed robotic manufacturing systems at customer facilities. You'll diagnose failures, perform preventative maintenance, and restore production uptime while building relationships with plant teams and documenting technical work with precision.

What you'll do

  • Diagnose and resolve failures on deployed robotic cells through remote escalation and on-site repair
  • Perform preventative, corrective, and predictive maintenance to maximize system uptime
  • Provide technical training and support to customer operators and maintenance teams
  • Log service activity, asset updates, and maintenance requirements in CMMS systems
  • Document root cause analysis and service work with structured follow-up actions
  • Identify systemic failure patterns and coordinate improvements across the fleet

  • Industrial robotics troubleshooting (Fanuc, KUKA, Yaskawa, ABB, or UR)
  • Electrical and mechanical diagnostics
  • PLC and robotic control systems knowledge
  • Reading electrical schematics and pneumatic drawings
  • CMMS platform proficiency
  • Root cause analysis and structured documentation
  • Safety compliance (LOTO and industrial standards)
  • Customer communication and relationship building
