Field Service Engineer - Boston
About this role
Formlabs seeks a Field Service Engineer to serve as the primary technical contact for 3D printing system customers across North America, traveling 80%+ of the time. You'll handle the complete customer lifecycle including equipment installation, commissioning, comprehensive training, and break-fix maintenance while managing logistics and maintaining detailed Salesforce documentation.
What you'll do
- Install, commission, and calibrate new 3D printing systems at customer sites
- Conduct on-site user training sessions on machinery operation, software, and basic maintenance
- Perform urgent repairs and rapid-response troubleshooting to minimize customer downtime
- Execute preventative maintenance visits on a schedule to meet 90-day service targets for warranty customers
- Independently manage complex travel logistics (flights, hotels, rental cars) and expense reporting
- Document installations, training, and repairs in Salesforce with meticulous record-keeping
