About this role
Formlabs seeks a Field Service Engineer to serve as the primary technical contact for 3D printing system installations, training, and repairs across North America. This travel-intensive role (80%+) involves commissioning equipment, conducting customer training, performing preventative and emergency maintenance, and managing logistics independently.
What you'll do
- Install, commission, and calibrate 3D printing systems at customer sites
- Conduct structured on-site training for customers on equipment operation and software
- Perform break-fix repairs and troubleshooting to achieve single-visit resolutions
- Execute preventative maintenance visits within 90-day windows for warranted customers
- Manage independent travel logistics and maintain detailed records in Salesforce
- Deliver live product demonstrations to build customer confidence
