About this role

Freeform seeks a new graduate mechanical or aerospace engineer to advance metal 3D printing technology by managing projects from design through production, including DFAM recommendations, print file preparation, and quality analysis. You'll collaborate across mechanical, electrical, and software teams to drive automation and manufacturing improvements while interfacing with major industrial customers.

What you'll do

  • Understand printing system capabilities and collaborate with internal teams to automate high-volume production processes
  • Drive complete print production development including DFAM feedback, file preparation, printing, post-processing, and quality control
  • Analyze in situ data and post-print part quality to identify continuous improvement opportunities
  • Apply first principles thinking to define test methods, evaluate solutions, and provide technical recommendations
  • Document application requirements, statements of work, standard operating procedures, and action items for team alignment
  • Interface with external customers to communicate technical capabilities and improve their design for additive manufacturing practices
