Mechanical Engineer (New Grad December 2026)
About this role
Freeform seeks a new mechanical engineering graduate to own hardware projects from concept through production, designing and testing complex mechanical systems for autonomous metal 3D printing factories. You'll work cross-functionally with electrical and software teams to build cutting-edge additive manufacturing equipment, with hands-on involvement in design, fabrication, integration, and validation.
What you'll do
- Lead hardware projects from concept to production as the responsible engineer
- Design and develop complex mechanical components, subassemblies, and systems with senior engineers
- Perform tolerance analysis at system and subsystem levels
- Plan and execute tests to validate feasibility, operation, and performance of equipment
- Build, integrate, and validate newly developed systems and subsystems
- Develop continuous improvement strategies to enhance system performance and manufacturability
