Process Engineer (New Grad December 2026)
About this role
Join Freeform as a Process Engineer to develop innovative metal 3D printing processes by analyzing complex data sets and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. You'll support process optimization and material characterization for advanced additive manufacturing systems, working alongside senior engineers to understand multi-physics phenomena and drive rapid iteration improvements.
What you'll do
- Analyze large in situ data sets to understand physical mechanisms and develop deep process knowledge
- Execute experiments, analyze results, and help optimize metal additive manufacturing processes
- Perform post-build metrology and material property analysis including tensile strength and microstructure
- Track and generate quality metrics for printed parts such as dimensional accuracy and surface roughness
- Develop and implement tool qualification procedures
- Collaborate with mechanical, software, and simulations engineers on data analysis and process improvement
