Motor Controls Engineer
About this role
Design and implement control algorithms and software for electric motors, drives, and motion systems used in uranium enrichment technology. Work across the full lifecycle from prototypes to deployed systems, collaborating with power electronics, firmware, and mechanical teams on modeling, control design, state estimation, and hardware integration.
What you'll do
- Develop control-oriented models of motors, drives, and rotating machinery for analysis and control design
- Design and implement motor and motion control algorithms to optimize system performance and capability
- Develop estimation and monitoring algorithms for system safety, reliability, state, speed, and fault detection
- Perform hands-on integration, calibration, and testing across simulation, bench, and integrated hardware environments
- Partner with power electronics, firmware, systems integration, and mechanical teams throughout product lifecycle
- Support deployment and optimization of control systems in field installations
