About this role

Lead customer migrations from self-managed GitLab to GitLab Dedicated using GitLab Geo for data replication and cloud infrastructure tools. You'll design migration runbooks, manage network connectivity, and guide customers through cutover with minimal disruption while improving migration tooling and processes.

What you'll do

  • Deliver end-to-end customer migrations from assessment through planning, replication, cutover, and validation
  • Configure GitLab Geo replication, troubleshoot synchronization issues, and maintain migration momentum
  • Design network connectivity within GitLab Dedicated environments including VPCs, DNS, and firewall rules
  • Build and improve migration automation using infrastructure as code and configuration as code tools
  • Advise customers on migration sequencing, risks, cutover windows, and integration requirements
  • Collaborate with Professional Services, Product, and Engineering teams to resolve blockers and share field feedback

  • GitLab deployment and configuration with Git/source control expertise
  • Infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Packer, Puppet, Chef)
  • Kubernetes production operations including deployments, troubleshooting, and scheduling
  • Cloud platform experience (AWS, GCP, or Azure) with network design knowledge
  • Programming in Go, Python, or Ruby
  • Customer-facing project leadership and technical advisory
  • Network design and connectivity (VPCs, DNS, firewalls)
  • Asynchronous communication and remote collaboration
