About this role

GovSignals is seeking a Product Engineer to own end-to-end customer-facing product areas in a full-stack TypeScript environment. You'll ship features daily, work directly with founders, and use AI coding tools to accelerate delivery in a fast-moving early-stage startup building AI infrastructure for government contracting.

What you'll do

  • Own high-impact product areas end-to-end, shipping customer-facing improvements from concept to production daily
  • Rapidly iterate on UI, UX, and application logic based on user feedback and production data
  • Decompose ambiguous product goals into clear engineering plans and execute them
  • Monitor production metrics, troubleshoot issues in real time, and ensure reliability of shipped features
  • Use AI pair-programming tools to multiply productivity and mentor team adoption
  • Collaborate with design, founders, customers, and support to translate feedback into product decisions

What they're looking for

  • Full-stack TypeScript (5+ years shipping customer-facing features)
  • Frontend development with Svelte/SvelteKit or React/Next.js
  • Backend development with Postgres, schema design, migrations, and query optimization
  • Daily fluent use of AI coding assistants (Cursor, Claude Code, Windsurf)
  • Problem decomposition and communication of technical tradeoffs
  • Automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and production monitoring
  • Ability to operate in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with shifting priorities
  • RAG pipelines, AI agent architectures, or AI-first UX patterns (nice to have)
