About this role

GovWell seeks a Mobile Engineer to build iOS and Android apps that help government staff and residents interact with municipal services efficiently. You'll own mobile product strategy from early stage to scale, working on native platforms with a focus on offline-first design and user experience for field and citizen-facing applications.

What you'll do

  • Develop native iOS (Swift/SwiftUI) and Android (Kotlin/Jetpack Compose) applications for government staff and residents
  • Design offline-first architecture ensuring field workers never lose progress due to connectivity issues
  • Build intuitive citizen-facing mobile experiences for permit and license interactions
  • Define mobile engineering standards and best practices as the product scales
  • Collaborate with CTO/Co-Founder to shape mobile product roadmap and new capabilities
  • Optimize for real-world conditions including slow networks and one-handed usage
