About this role
GuidePoint Security seeks a mid-level Forescout Engineer to deploy, maintain, and operate advanced cybersecurity solutions for federal and commercial clients in the Reston, VA area. The role combines hands-on infrastructure work with network engineering and vulnerability assessment across complex, multi-domain environments.
What you'll do
- Deploy and perform daily maintenance of ForeScout CounterACT appliances
- Execute network engineering tasks including switch configuration, VLAN setup, and firewall appliance management
- Support multi-domain architectures spanning data centers, WANs, and LANs in virtualized environments
- Troubleshoot systems, monitor performance, and apply security patches for Windows and Linux
- Provide Tier II IT operations support including ticket management and issue remediation
- Integrate cybersecurity data using enterprise tools like Splunk and other analysis platforms

- Windows and Linux systems administration
- Network engineering (switches, VLANs, firewalls, Active Directory)
- Multi-domain and virtualized architecture knowledge
- DoD 8570 IAT Level III certification (SecurityX/CASP+, CCNP Security, CISA, or equivalent)
- Data aggregation and analysis (Splunk or similar tools)
- Cybersecurity incident response and vulnerability assessment
- Federal information security frameworks and compliance
