About this role

Hadrian seeks a generalist Automation Controls Engineer to design and deploy end-to-end control systems for custom production lines, including PLC programming, robotic integration, and electrical panel design. You'll own projects from concept through floor commissioning, working cross-functionally to stand up aerospace and defense manufacturing cells on tight timelines.

What you'll do

  • Design controls architecture for robotic, CNC, and custom tooling cells from requirements to production run-off
  • Develop and deploy PLC applications on Siemens or equivalent platforms with reusable code libraries
  • Tune multi-axis motion systems including servos, VFDs, and steppers; integrate sensors and safety devices
  • Specify and design electrical panels; architect industrial networks (EtherCAT, PROFINET, OPC UA)
  • Build operator HMIs, lead safety risk assessments, and conduct structured troubleshooting on the production floor
  • Mentor junior engineers and codify best practices into shared libraries and operational playbooks
