Battery Test Engineer
About this role
Harbinger seeks a Battery Test Engineer to validate and characterize the Auxiliary Power System battery pack's electrical and thermal performance. You'll develop test software, design validation procedures, and work cross-functionally with design, BMS, and manufacturing teams to ensure products meet specifications before production release.
What you'll do
- Develop and automate test software using LabVIEW and/or CANalyzer for battery pack validation
- Collaborate with design, BMS, and system engineers to characterize battery and system performance
- Specify requirements for Design Validation Plan (DVP) procedures including instrumentation and data acquisition methods
- Author and execute test cases to confirm performance against defined requirements
- Support BMS software development by providing data analysis to validate performance targets
- Document test results and support issue resolution with clear technical documentation

- LabVIEW or CANalyzer software development
- High-voltage lab experience and hands-on instrumentation (thermocouples, pressure transducers, oscilloscopes)
- Battery technology and AC/DC electrical fundamentals
- Power conversion and power electronics knowledge
- Python or Matlab for data analysis
- Technical writing and documentation
- Test procedure design and validation methodologies
- Hand tools, wiring fabrication, and test equipment debugging
