About this role

Havoc seeks a Senior Rapid Prototyping Engineer to advance Locust, an advanced unmanned aircraft system, from prototype toward Department of Defense production. You'll design, build, and test drone hardware—integrating mechanical and electrical subsystems, performing hands-on fabrication, and iterating based on test results in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll do

  • Convert concepts and requirements into functional drone prototypes and subsystems
  • Design airframes, mechanisms, mounts, enclosures, and payload interfaces using CAD
  • Integrate propulsion, batteries, avionics, sensors, compute, communications, and payloads
  • Perform fabrication and assembly using additive manufacturing, CNC, sheet metal, and composites
  • Conduct bench, ground, environmental, and flight testing with hands-on troubleshooting
  • Rapidly redesign components based on test failures and performance data

  • Mechanical CAD (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or equivalent)

  • Propulsion system integration (motors, ESCs, batteries)

  • Avionics and sensor integration
