Havoc AI
Robotics Simulation Engineer
About this role
Havoc seeks a Robotics Simulation Engineer to design and build simulation environments for testing autonomous systems across marine, aerial, and ground platforms. You'll develop realistic scenarios, integrate autonomy stacks with simulation infrastructure, and create tools that enable engineering teams to validate systems before field deployment.
What you'll do
- Build simulation environments using Unity, Unreal Engine, or similar platforms for autonomous boats, drones, ground vehicles, and multi-agent operations
- Develop configurable scenarios, sensor models, environmental conditions, and edge-case test cases with high fidelity
- Integrate simulation with autonomy stacks, mission software, and command-and-control systems for software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop testing
- Create automated testing tools and regression workflows to validate system behavior before deployment
- Build developer tooling for scenario generation, orchestration, visualization, and results analysis
- Partner with cross-functional teams to translate operational requirements into simulation capabilities
What they're looking for
- Unity or Unreal Engine game engine development
- C++, C#, or Python programming
- Robotics simulation and software-in-the-loop (SIL) testing
- Autonomous systems and autonomy stack integration
- Scenario design and agent behavior modeling
- Hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing and closed-loop simulation
- Automated testing and regression test infrastructure
- 3D environment and physics simulation
