About this role

Hyliion is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to own the hardware development lifecycle for their KARNO generator, from initial design to validation. This role involves designing robust components that can withstand extreme conditions and operate across a variety of fuels, utilizing CAD software and FEA analysis. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about advancing fuel-agnostic power generation technology.

What you'll do

  • Design and develop mechanical components and subsystems from concept to production.
  • Perform fluid and thermal systems design and optimization.
  • Conduct structural and thermal FEA analysis (ANSYS or equivalent).
  • Create 3D models in NX and generate 2D prints with GD&T.
  • Execute prototype builds and validation cycles.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the development process.
