About this role
Jane Street seeks a cybersecurity-focused student intern to join their SOC team in New York, working on incident investigation, threat response, and security automation. You'll pair with mentors on real projects, split time between hands-on incident response and building tools to enhance detection and response capabilities.
What you'll do
- Investigate security alerts and analyze activity chains to identify and respond to threats
- Hunt for and respond to active security incidents across the firm's infrastructure
- Build tools and automation to improve detection, response speed, and operational scale
- Learn and work with diverse log sources, in-house systems, and open-source security tooling
- Develop code solutions to solve real security problems and enhance workflows
- Educate colleagues across the firm on security best practices and risk considerations
