About this role
Juniper Square's Applied AI team is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to design, build, and operate custom AI agents for private markets clients. You'll work directly with GPs across the full delivery lifecycle—from discovery through production deployment—combining product thinking with full-stack engineering to ship AI-powered solutions that solve real operational problems.
What you'll do
- Collaborate with GP clients (CFOs, COOs, fund teams) to identify workflows where custom AI agents create business leverage
- Own discovery, requirements definition, and scoping to translate business problems into clear technical specs
- Design and build agentic systems including retrieval, tool integration, orchestration, and production observability
- Carry components through full lifecycle from prototype and validation through hardening, deployment, and rollout
- Make engineering trade-offs balancing speed with reliability, security, and maintainability under real client commitments
- Operate deployed solutions post-launch, iterate on user feedback, and contribute patterns back to component library
