About this role
Kairos Power seeks an experienced Test Engineer to design, build, and optimize experimental systems and prototype hardware for advanced nuclear reactor technology development. What you'll do
- Design, develop, fabricate, and commission experimental systems and prototype hardware supporting reactor technology development
- Investigate technical problems through engineering analysis and hands-on experimentation to identify root causes and solutions
- Integrate mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, instrumentation, and control system components into functioning hardware
- Plan, execute, and document engineering experiments that reduce technical uncertainty and generate actionable knowledge
- Collaborate with design, software, and operations engineers to rapidly iterate hardware designs and improve capabilities
- Troubleshoot multidisciplinary systems using first-principles methods, empirical testing, and systematic root cause analysis
