About this role

Kodiak Robotics seeks a Controls Software Engineer to develop safety-critical motion control systems for autonomous trucks. You'll design feedback and control strategies using MATLAB/Simulink, work on redundant actuation and fail-safe architectures, and collaborate across hardware and embedded systems teams.

What you'll do

  • Design and implement feedback control and actuation strategies for autonomous vehicle platforms
  • Develop and test safety-critical software for truck steering, braking, and engine management systems
  • Build vehicle dynamics models and simulations to support motion planning and controls
  • Address redundant actuation, degraded operation modes, and fail-safe control architectures
  • Create requirement specifications, implement features, plan testing, and document results
  • Collaborate with hardware, embedded systems, and systems engineering teams on vehicle control architecture
