About this role
LG Magna e-Powertrain seeks a Quality NVH Engineer to investigate field and warranty returns of electric motors, diagnosing failures through teardown analysis, NVH testing coordination, and root cause investigation to support continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
What you'll do
- Analyze field return and warranty motors using customer complaints, DTC codes, vehicle data, and production history to establish failure hypotheses
- Perform initial motor diagnosis including visual inspection, functional checks, electrical measurements, and insulation verification
- Conduct teardown analysis of drive units, inspecting rotors, stators, windings, magnets, bearings, and other internal components for damage or degradation
- Coordinate NVH testing with internal teams and external laboratories when abnormal noise or vibration is suspected
- Document failure evidence and conduct component-level root cause analysis to identify contributing factors
- Prepare technical reports and communicate findings to customers and internal stakeholders for corrective actions
