About this role
Lightmatter seeks an Electrical Design Engineer to develop board and system solutions for advanced AI data center photonics infrastructure. You'll design circuits for power, control, and high-speed interconnects while collaborating across hardware and software teams to bring products from concept through production validation.
What you'll do
- Design power, control, mixed-signal, and high-speed interconnect circuits meeting system requirements
- Apply signal integrity, power integrity, and design-for-excellence best practices
- Perform board bring-up, verification, integration, and troubleshooting
- Develop and execute test plans to validate board and system performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams from design concept through manufacturing
- Research and evaluate new components, processes, and technologies for product goals

- Schematic design (Altium or equivalent)
- Signal integrity (SI) and power integrity (PI) analysis
- Board bring-up and lab experimentation
- High-speed interfaces (PCIe, DDR, Ethernet, SerDes)
- Product Lifecycle Management tools
- Design for manufacturability and reliability (DfX)
- Cross-functional troubleshooting and integration
- Python or scripting for test automation
