About this role
Lucid is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer II to develop and optimize manufacturing equipment and processes for electric motor inverters and powertrains. You'll own assigned production stations from design through production ramp, partnering across engineering, operations, quality, and supplier teams to ensure safe, scalable manufacturing.
What you'll do
- Design and validate manufacturing processes for e-motor assembly, joining, pressing, bearing installation, and fastening operations
- Develop inverter assembly processes including laser welding, dispensing, automated handling, traceability, and functional testing
- Create equipment specifications, RFQ packages, and conduct technical bid reviews with suppliers
- Support equipment installation, commissioning, debugging, and production ramp with cross-functional collaboration
- Manage high- and low-voltage test systems including hipot testing, safety protocols, and false-fail reduction
- Perform motor dyno testing and end-of-line functional validation with data-driven optimization
