The Lumber Manufactory is seeking a Process Engineer to optimize material flow and improve efficiency across their sawmill and related facilities. This hands-on role involves working directly on the mill floor, analyzing processes, and implementing improvements to maximize yield and throughput. The ideal candidate will have experience in wood products manufacturing and a passion for applying engineering principles to solve complex operational challenges.
What you'll do
- Design and optimize material flow from log intake to finished goods.
- Develop and maintain mill layouts incorporating equipment and material flow.
- Evaluate and specify equipment to maximize recovery and throughput.
- Perform line balancing and bottleneck analysis across the mill.
- Partner with production, maintenance, and capital projects teams.
- Apply lean principles to identify and eliminate waste in operations.
