Technical Service Engineer
About this role
Lunar Energy seeks a Technical Service Engineer to provide expert remote and on-site support for residential clean energy installations. You'll troubleshoot complex solar, battery, and EV charging systems, coordinate field service activities, and drive continuous improvement through telemetry analysis and proactive monitoring.
What you'll do
- Deliver remote technical support via phone, chat, and email to installation partners and field engineers
- Perform root-cause analysis and troubleshooting for Lunar product installations both remotely and on-site
- Assess and approve field RMAs while managing escalations end-to-end until resolution
- Monitor system alerts and telemetry to proactively identify site issues and coordinate necessary visits
- Analyze installer performance data to identify training needs and recommend system improvements
- Serve as subject-matter expert on solar, battery storage, and EV charging systems
What they're looking for
- Residential solar, battery, and EV charging system design and installation (5+ years)
- Electrical troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
- Reading single-line diagrams, permits, and technical specifications
- Telemetry interpretation and data anomaly detection
- NEC code knowledge and interconnection/AHJ processes
- Electrical Journeyman certification or license (preferred)
- Microsoft Office and G-Suite proficiency
- Excellent written and verbal communication
