About this role
Mapbox seeks a developer-first Documentation Engineer to maintain and improve docs.mapbox.com, keeping technical documentation current and accurate for millions of developers. You'll balance hands-on coding with clear technical writing, working directly with the Mapbox platform (web, mobile, embedded SDKs) to understand and document features as they launch.
What you'll do
- Update docs.mapbox.com with corrections, clarifications, code samples, and product sync changes
- Triage user feedback on documentation and coordinate fixes across product teams
- Manage git/GitHub workflows for documentation contributions including branching, pull requests, and reviews
- Work hands-on with Mapbox products to develop deep understanding of features being documented
- Partner with product teams to launch documentation for new features and products
- Prototype lightweight tools and workflows to streamline documentation updates
