May Mobility seeks a Robotics Engineer II to develop and optimize autonomous vehicle software, focusing on machine learning model integration, real-world testing, and field performance diagnostics. This onsite Ann Arbor role involves working with perception systems and autonomy software to enhance the reliability and latency of self-driving vehicle systems.
What you'll do
- Train, integrate, and test machine learning models for on-vehicle autonomy software
- Optimize and monitor on-vehicle software for reliability and minimal latency
- Execute on-vehicle tests to validate autonomous vehicle software performance in real-world scenarios
- Diagnose and root-cause operational issues using the May Field Response process
- Design and oversee data collection strategies to improve ML model performance
- Develop tools and visualizations for analyzing behavior and control subsystem performance from field data

- C/C++ and Python programming in Linux environments
- Machine learning model concepts including training and architecture
- Lidar, camera, and radar perception systems
- Software fundamentals: memory management, threading, databases, networking
- Development tools: git, valgrind, gdb
- CUDA and GPU processing (desirable)
- Autonomous driving perception and planning concepts (desirable)
- ML model deployment to resource-constrained hardware (desirable)
