About this role
McAdams seeks an experienced Hydraulic Design Project Engineer to lead drainage and hydrologic design for multimodal transportation projects across public and private sectors. The role involves managing feasibility through permitting, coordinating cross-functional teams, and delivering quality designs on schedule while mentoring junior staff and supporting business development.
What you'll do
- Design and oversee hydraulic analyses, drainage systems, and erosion control plans for transportation infrastructure projects
- Prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, and permitting applications for public bid and private development projects
- Coordinate with internal teams and manage subconsultants to integrate geomatics, water resources, and civil design
- Conduct field reviews and participate in design advancement from feasibility through bidding and construction support
- Ensure quality assurance and quality control compliance; supervise and mentor junior engineering staff
- Support business development through proposal preparation, client relationship building, and industry conference participation
