Software Engineer Intern
About this role
Join Mercor's backend engineering team as an intern to build production systems powering AI research and talent platforms. You'll own end-to-end projects alongside researchers and operators, gaining exposure to frontier AI while working in-person in San Francisco, NYC, or London.
What you'll do
- Design and ship production-grade backend systems that support AI data workflows and recruiting automation
- Own projects end-to-end from conception through deployment to production
- Collaborate with product and design teams to translate requirements into scalable solutions
- Write clean, maintainable code while reasoning about system architecture and tradeoffs
- Contribute to either talent platform tools or applied AI/human data initiatives based on team fit
- Participate in code reviews and help maintain high standards for quality and simplicity
