Software Engineer, Computer Vision / Image Processing
About this role
Muon Space seeks a Computer Vision engineer to optimize mission-critical imaging pipelines by re-implementing expensive stages like bundle adjustment and orthorectification as high-performance C++/GPU services. You'll work hands-on to reduce latency across satellite data processing workflows, collaborating with the image products and HPC teams to bring algorithms from Python prototypes to production scale.
What you'll do
- Re-implement imaging pipeline stages (bundle adjustment, orthorectification, image I/O) in performant C++ and expose them to Python
- Optimize and accelerate expensive pipeline stages using GPU and other hardware acceleration techniques
- Partner with image data products team to identify and prioritize high-value stages for performance migration
- Develop and benchmark high-performance reference algorithms for classical imaging operations
- Own verification, validation, and performance regression testing in CI pipelines
- Produce technical designs, trade studies, and interface documentation
