PCB Design Engineer

Torrance, California, United States$115.5k–$162kmidAdded yesterday

About this role

Neros seeks an experienced PCB Design Engineer to own circuit board layouts across defense drone platforms, managing everything from schematic interpretation through manufacturing release. You'll drive design standards, maintain the Altium library, and ensure first-pass manufacturing success on high-performance airside and ground control electronics.

What you'll do

  • Own PCB layout from released schematic through fabrication release, including stackup, placement, routing, and design rule closure
  • Manage the Altium library including footprints, symbols, land patterns, design rules, templates, and revision control
  • Design high-speed digital, RF, analog, and power sections with controlled impedance, differential pairs, and return path integrity
  • Create flex and rigid-flex circuits with bend areas, stiffeners, coverlay, and ZIF terminations per IPC standards
  • Produce complete fabrication and assembly documentation to IPC Class 2 and 3 standards with Gerber, NC drill, and BOM outputs
  • Collaborate with fabrication and assembly vendors on DFM/DFA feedback and establish PCB design standards for the team

What they're looking for

  • PCB layout and design with 7+ years production experience
  • Expert Altium Designer proficiency including library and workspace management
  • RF and high-speed digital layout with controlled impedance and transmission line design
  • Flex and rigid-flex circuit design per IPC-2223 and IPC-6013
  • IPC standards knowledge (IPC-2221, IPC-2222, IPC-6012, IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, IPC-7351)
  • Layer stackup definition and impedance calculations with vendor coordination
  • Manufacturing output package creation with first-pass fabrication success track record
  • Electronics or electrical engineering degree or equivalent hands-on experience
