About this role
Neuralink seeks a hands-on robotics engineer to build and maintain a test fleet for their surgical robot platform. You'll develop test rigs, diagnose failures across mechanical and electrical systems, automate validation workflows, and ensure the robot meets safety and performance standards before deployment.
What you'll do
- Bring up, instrument, and operate robots and component test rigs in the lab
- Debug failures across mechanics, electronics, firmware, and software systems
- Automate verification, validation, test execution, and data analysis workflows
- Design and build test fixtures, sensing systems, and logging infrastructure with safety procedures
- Collaborate with simulation and hardware-in-loop engineers to align models with real-world behavior
- Convert discovered failures into repeatable regression tests to prevent hardware waste

- Hands-on robotics development and troubleshooting
- Python for test automation and data analysis
- Rust (basic understanding)
- Motor drives, encoders, sensors, and hardware protocols (Ethernet, SPI, I²C, UART, EtherCAT)
- Schematic reading and circuit diagnosis
- Oscilloscope, logic analyzer, and data acquisition system operation
- AI tool usage for automation and failure analysis
- Test design and reproducibility discipline
