Software Engineer - Simulation
About this role
Build and own the end-to-end simulation system for Neuralink's surgical robot, enabling comprehensive testing and verification of brain surgery hardware and software. You'll create physics simulations, automated test frameworks, and fault reproduction tools that run efficiently in CI/CD pipelines to accelerate development timelines.
What you'll do
- Design and implement full robot simulation including dynamics, sensors, actuators, and product-stack interfaces
- Develop automated test scenarios, regression tests, fault injection, and coverage analysis for the simulated robot
- Test real robot software and firmware against simulated hardware to catch issues early
- Reproduce hardware failures in simulation to identify root causes and accelerate troubleshooting
- Optimize simulation runs to be deterministic, measurable, and efficient enough for continuous integration
- Collaborate with users and stakeholders to gather feedback and iterate on simulation capabilities
