About this role

Northwood seeks an Electrical Engineer to lead fleet operations and reliability for a global network of advanced ground stations. You'll balance hands-on hardware operations, field deployments at remote sites, and building scalable monitoring systems to maximize uptime across the company's satellite communications infrastructure.

What you'll do

  • Manage fleet uptime and performance by deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting a distributed global antenna network
  • Operate the Network Operations Center: monitor telemetry, send commands, and drive rapid incident response
  • Lead hardware deployment campaigns at remote sites worldwide, serving as on-site technical lead and single point of contact
  • Conduct root cause analysis on failures and implement fixes to reduce recurrence; develop deep expertise in a major subsystem
  • Build and scale a global contractor ecosystem with maintenance agreements, SLAs, and onboarding processes
  • Partner with product and manufacturing teams to influence designs for improved reliability and maintainability
