Hardware Development Engineer (RF Systems)
About this role
Northwood seeks a Hardware Development Engineer to lead antenna system design and deployment for satellite ground stations. You'll own multidisciplinary RF hardware products from concept through production, combining mechanical structures, RF electronics, thermal management, and embedded systems while coordinating cross-functional teams.
What you'll do
- Own technical development and execution of antenna systems from concept through production and field deployment
- Translate customer and mission needs into system requirements, architectures, performance budgets, and verification plans
- Coordinate development across mechanical, electrical, RF, embedded software, thermal, manufacturing, and test disciplines
- Lead system-level trade studies on antenna performance, structural design, power, thermal behavior, reliability, and manufacturability
- Drive prototype builds, system integration, test campaigns, and root-cause investigations
- Provide technical leadership updates on progress, risks, and resource needs to engineering leadership
