Manufacturing Engineer
About this role
Northwood Space seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to develop and optimize production processes for advanced satellite ground station antennas and RF assemblies. You'll bridge design and manufacturing, lead process improvements, and make strategic equipment investment decisions while supporting hardware integration from prototype to full-scale deployment.
What you'll do
- Develop and optimize manufacturing processes for precision RF assemblies and antenna systems
- Design tooling, fixtures, and assembly workflows ensuring repeatability and reliability
- Partner with design teams on design-for-manufacturability (DFM) and prototype-to-production transitions
- Lead root cause analysis and continuous improvement to increase yield and reduce defects
- Evaluate and procure production equipment balancing cost, space, and scalability
- Create work instructions, process documentation, and test setups for environmental and RF validation
