About this role

Northwood Space seeks a Fleet Operations & Reliability Engineer to manage uptime and performance of a global network of ground station antennas. You'll balance hands-on hardware operations, field deployments to remote sites, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure mission-critical systems perform reliably worldwide.

What you'll do

  • Own fleet uptime and performance by deploying, maintaining, and troubleshooting a distributed antenna network globally
  • Operate the Network Operations Center: monitor site health, interpret telemetry, send commands, and drive rapid incident response
  • Lead field deployment campaigns at remote international sites, serving as on-site conductor and POC from pre-deployment through first contact
  • Drive root cause analysis on failures and implement fixes to reduce recurrence; develop deep expertise in RF, power, networking, or mechanical subsystems
  • Scale the contractor ecosystem by sourcing, contracting, and coordinating regional maintenance partners across domestic and international sites
  • Partner with product, manufacturing, and test teams to influence designs for improved reliability, maintainability, and lifecycle performance
