Sodium Test Engineer
About this role
Oklo seeks a Sodium Test Engineer to design, build, and operate experimental systems using molten sodium for advanced nuclear technology. You'll develop test programs, execute experiments, analyze data, and help establish laboratory capabilities while working in a fast-paced startup environment with up to 10% travel.
What you'll do
- Design and develop test plans, procedures, and work instructions for molten-sodium experimental systems
- Lead or support test setup, equipment checkout, specimen installation, startup, monitoring, and shutdown activities
- Validate raw data for completeness and accuracy; identify anomalies and assess measurement uncertainty
- Prepare technical reports including test results, materials evaluations, and failure analyses with clear documentation
- Establish and improve materials-laboratory capabilities, maintenance programs, and safe operating procedures
- Interpret piping diagrams, schematics, and equipment drawings to support system design and operation
