Network Operations Engineer
About this role
Okta seeks a Network Operations Engineer to manage the full operational lifecycle, SLOs, and availability of corporate network services across global infrastructure. You'll write automation code to eliminate toil, collaborate with cross-functional teams on security and reliability, and participate in on-call rotations supporting a high-performing corporate network.
What you'll do
- Manage operational lifecycle, SLOs, and availability for network services in physical and virtual environments
- Design and develop automation tooling using production-quality code to reduce team toil and improve efficiency
- Collaborate with Workplace, TDI, and Security teams to resolve incidents and enhance network security
- Maintain fleet-wide consistency across software, configuration, and security standards
- Participate in on-call rotation, troubleshooting live incidents and communicating impacts to stakeholders
- Research and implement innovative network technologies for infrastructure improvements

- Production-quality code writing and automation
- Core networking concepts (WiFi, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN, ACLs, Routing, Firewall Policies)
- Network device monitoring, alerting, and logging tools
- Juniper/JUNOS switching and routing (preferred)
- Palo Alto Networks NGFWs (preferred)
- Incident troubleshooting and structured problem-solving
- Cross-team collaboration and communication
- SLO and availability management
