About this role
onX seeks a Backend Engineer III to build scalable infrastructure services supporting growth initiatives like content experimentation and event tracking across their outdoor adventure product verticals. You'll work on a horizontal platform team supporting Growth engineers, focusing on reliable services, rigorous testing, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain scalable backend services for content experimentation and event tracking platforms
- Write comprehensive unit, integration, and acceptance tests for reliability
- Participate in architectural design discussions and propose service solutions
- Collaborate with engineers, PMs, mobile teams, BI, and marketing stakeholders
- Extend existing onX services and avoid duplicating solutions
- Participate in on-call rotation for backend service support
