Forward Deployed Software Engineer - SF

About this role

OpenAI seeks an experienced full-stack software engineer to partner with enterprise customers, designing and deploying custom solutions leveraging OpenAI's APIs. You'll embed with strategic clients to understand their challenges, architect scalable systems, and drive projects from proof-of-concept to production while collaborating across sales, solutions, and product teams.

What you'll do

• Partner with strategic customers to understand business challenges and technical requirements in depth
• Design, architect, and develop full-stack solutions using iterative, experiment-driven approaches
• Prepare detailed project scopes and plans for both prototypes and production deployments
• Code alongside customer technical teams as a trusted advisor on their infrastructure
• Collaborate with Product and Research teams to ensure successful outcomes and collect actionable feedback
• Document best practices and insights to scale the Forward Deployed Engineering function
