About this role

OpenAI's Ona team is seeking a backend-focused Product Engineer to build infrastructure enabling AI agents to work securely in enterprise cloud environments. You'll develop Go-based APIs, orchestration systems, and developer workflows while partnering closely with customers to move from agent experimentation to reliable production use.

What you'll do

  • Collaborate with customers to design developer and security workflows for agent-driven software development
  • Build Go services and APIs for cloud environment provisioning, agent execution, and tool integrations
  • Design reliable orchestration for long-running parallel tasks with durable state and recovery mechanisms
  • Implement security controls including permissions, credential handling, isolation, and auditability
  • Own production quality through testing, safe deployments, observability, and operational reliability
  • Partner with frontend and design teams to simplify complex backend capabilities
