About this role

Join OpenAI's ChatGPT Lifestyle team as a full-stack product engineer building next-generation AI consumer experiences. You'll design and ship end-to-end product features spanning frontend, backend, and multimodal AI workflows, working closely with researchers, designers, and product managers to create intuitive interfaces that bring advanced AI capabilities to millions of users.

What you'll do

  • Design and build end-to-end product experiences across web services, APIs, and modern frontend applications
  • Partner with product, design, and research teams to rapidly prototype and launch AI-native experiences
  • Develop scalable backend systems powering personalized, real-time product features
  • Build intuitive, performant interfaces integrating text, images, and interactive components
  • Iterate quickly using user feedback, experimentation, and product metrics
  • Help define engineering standards and technical direction for the product area

  • Full-stack development (frontend and backend)
  • React, TypeScript, Next.js or similar modern frontend frameworks
  • Backend services in Python, Go, Node.js, Rust, or comparable languages
  • Distributed systems, APIs, and cloud infrastructure

  • AI/ML product experience (personalization, recommendations, multimodal systems)
  • Cross-functional collaboration
