About this role

Join OpenAI's Engineering Acceleration team to build and operate the continuous deployment platform that safely ships infrastructure and product code to production across global Kubernetes clusters. This role combines developer productivity tools, distributed systems reliability, and large-scale orchestration to make deployments fast, safe, and increasingly autonomous.

What you'll do

• Design and build CD infrastructure for safe rollouts across multiple Kubernetes clusters and regions
• Develop progressive delivery systems including canary releases, staged rollouts, and automated rollback mechanisms
• Improve engineering velocity by automating release pipelines and reducing operational friction
• Implement deployment methodologies like GitOps, infrastructure-as-code, and progressive delivery patterns
• Build health evaluation systems using metrics, logs, and traces to detect regressions and trigger safe rollbacks
• Develop AI-assisted or autonomous deployment workflows using modern tooling
