About this role

Join OpenAI's Plugin Developer Platform team to design and build APIs, SDKs, and services that enable developers to extend ChatGPT and Codex. You'll work across the full stack—from developer-facing interfaces to backend systems—while directly engaging with the open-source community to shape how developers build for AI agents.

What you'll do

  • Design and ship APIs and SDKs for extending ChatGPT and Codex
  • Simplify plugin creation, testing, publishing, and sharing workflows
  • Improve compatibility across ChatGPT, Codex, and interactive app experiences
  • Contribute to the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and other open standards
  • Collaborate with developers and partners to identify platform gaps and improvements
  • Work with Product, Security, and Trust & Safety teams on permissions and safe execution
