About this role
Oura seeks a Supplier Development Engineer to own battery manufacturing and integration for its wearable ring products, from cell qualification through production ramp. You'll partner across engineering teams to optimize battery processes for performance, cost, and reliability while managing global suppliers and automating assembly lines.
What you'll do
- Define and optimize battery cell, assembly, and pack-integration processes to meet design, safety, and operational requirements
- Identify, qualify, and develop relationships with battery cell suppliers and assembly equipment manufacturers
- Lead new battery assembly line bring-up, including equipment specification, installation, and production qualification
- Drive supplier process optimization globally, resolve production issues, and maintain quality standards
- Collaborate with battery, electrical, quality, and product design teams to balance energy density, cost, and reliability
- Use data analysis to influence product and industrial design specifications and cell dimensions
